EFI Fadder began its work in the beginning of the 1990’s as the inhumane conditions in the Romanian orphanages were revealed to the world. After a few years, EFI then set up the Romanian organisation FCE to be able to work more effectively in Marghita, Romania. As the years have gone by the work has grown and changed. Today there are around 40 employees who, together with volunteers, work in the different projects FCE spearheads and supports. The work is led by Swedish couple Lars and Barbro Gustavsson who have lived in Marghita since the mid 90’s. EFI Fadder still raise money, as a charity in Sweden, to support the work of FCE in Marghita, Romania.
